How to put a booking link on your Google Business Profile
Most people who are about to book you are looking at your Google listing, not your website. They searched your name, or they searched for a salon near them, and they are looking at a panel with your hours, your photos and a phone number. If the only thing to press is the phone number, you get a call, and if you are with a client the call goes to voicemail.
Adding your booking link to that panel takes a few minutes and it is the single highest value place your link can sit.
Before you start
You need two things: your EZBookings booking page address, which you can copy from your dashboard, and access to the Google Business Profile for your shop. If you have never claimed the listing, Google will walk you through verifying it, usually by postcard or phone, and that part can take a few days.
Adding the link
- Search your business name on Google while signed in to the account that manages the listing, or open business.google.com.
- Open the profile and find Edit profile, then the Contact tab.
- Look for the Appointment links field, sometimes shown as Booking or Appointments.
- Paste your booking page address and save.
- Give it an hour, then search your business in a private window and check that the button appears.
Some categories show the link as a Book button, some show it as Appointments in the list of links. Which one you get is Google's decision and it depends on the category your listing is filed under. If you do not see an appointment field at all, set your primary category to the one that describes the work you actually do, such as hair salon, nail salon or barber shop, and check again.
What this is and is not
This puts your own booking page one press away from your listing. It is not Reserve with Google, which is a separate program with its own partner requirements, and EZBookings is not part of it. The practical difference is small: the client still presses one button and lands on your page. The honest difference is that the booking happens on your page rather than inside Google.
The other four places worth putting it
- Your Instagram bio, as the only link, so the profile button is a booking button.
- Your voicemail greeting, read out slowly, for the calls you miss.
- A QR code taped by the register or on the mirror, for the client who is already standing there and wants their next visit.
- Your text message signature, so anybody who asks for an appointment by text gets a link back instead of a conversation.
Wherever it goes, the link behaves the same way. Your clients see your services, your open times and what they owe before they pay, and the software stays $0/month for you.
